en español

Our mission is to provide quality, comprehensive medical care to all of our residents, with dignity and compassion, regardless of ethnicity, nationality or religion.

St. Barnabas Nursing Home is a long-term care facility situated on the ten-acre campus of the acclaimed St. Barnabas Hospital complex in the Belmont section of the Bronx. The nursing home has well-maintained grounds with beautiful landscaping. The nursing home comprises of an attractive, seven-story contemporary building, opened in 1994. Since that time, St. Barnabas Nursing Home has gained community-wide recognition for its high standards of quality care.

Our mission is to enhance and enrich the lives of the elderly through comprehensive services designed to meet individual needs. We provide a unique environment for long-term care in which residents have the opportunity to develop a sense of control over their lives, maintain their dignity and plan for a fulfilling future within their own capabilities.

In addition to long-term geriatric care, we are renowned for our Adult Day Health Care program that is available seven days a week.  ADHC is medical model program with services that include door-to-door transportation, breakfast, lunch, recreational activities, wellness programs and community outings.

Easing the Transition

A new resident entering St. Barnabas Nursing Home is welcomed into a warm and caring environment. We understand that the transition from home and hospital to long-term care may be difficult. With compassion, professional expertise and true concern for individual needs, we are prepared to handle this dynamic in the most sensitive and dignified manner possible. One of the most important elements in this transition is the continued presence of family members and loved ones.

New Surroundings

Our residents enjoy spacious living quarters with large windows in each of the private and semi-private rooms providing a panoramic view, at the same time bathing the interiors with natural light. Separate dining and recreation rooms with television on each floor promote ample opportunities for socializing in a home-like atmosphere.

In pleasant weather, outdoor seating areas are popular, and our shaded terrace is a favorite gathering place for special celebrations or visiting with family and guests.

Architecturally, the design plan of the Home facilitates comfort and  privacy. All rooms offer wheelchair accessibility and are located within view of a nurse station, assuring safety and adequate supervision. An enclosed bridge connecting the fourth floor with St. Barnabas Hospital allows convenient access and ease of transport for residents requiring acute care.
