Overview

At Home at St. Barnabas

Our commitment at St. Barnabas Nursing Home extends well beyond care giving. Attending to resident’s emotional needs, we provide a nurturing environment based on a strong sense of community. Through participation in a community of self-help and peer support, residents at St. Barnabas develop the essential sense of belonging that fosters security and enhances quality of life.

We provide a creative program of daily therapeutic recreational activities that promote active socialization. In addition, our recreation staff arranges a full schedule of special events and holiday celebrations, all of which provide a lively sharing of festivities. From the popular annual Memorial Day barbecue to scheduled outings, residents participate in and enjoy a stimulating variety of fun-filled, memorable events year-round.

Excellent Continuity of Care

Through a multiplicity of services coordinated to meet the special needs of each resident, we assure uncompromising continuity of care. Social, medical, nutritional and rehabilitative requirements are assessed and monitored by highly trained professionals. At the outset, each resident is assigned an Attending Physician, who recommends a plan of medical treatment, supervises diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and prescribes medications.

Our team approach assures that administrators, physicians, nurse managers, social workers, case managers, dietitians, recreation and rehabilitation therapists, and special consultants are working together to provide the highest level of interdisciplinary care for every member of our Nursing Home family. We also encourage resident’s own family members to participate in the plan of care.
